Distribution Challenge

Client:
A manufacturer of external hard drives and other peripherals sold at retail outlets for the consumer market

Challenge:
Their business was growing fast, and their current distribution vendor was unable to keep pace with the increase in volume. As many as 1000 pieces per day needed to be packaged and shipped to retail outlets.

SabeRex Solution:
SabeRex presented a distribution plan to handle this volume and the anticipated increase. Implementing a well designed distribution program including Project Management, SaberTracs online web portal for real time inventory tracking, climate controlled facilities, a proprietary warehouse tracking system, and value added services including shrink wrapping of product.

Result:
SabeRex was able to meet the client’s delivery schedule for product to their retail outlets. This allowed the client to maximize revenue by delivering product more efficiently.
SabeRex also designed a reverse logistics system for receipt and inventory of product returns, further reducing the client's overhead costs.

Hardware and Software Integration Challenge

Client:
A company specializing in credit card processing and payment solutions for fleet fuel services. They also offer Point of Sale, Data Management, and Payroll services.

Challenge:
The company’s on site POS system was outdated and could no longer be supported. Failures in the field resulted in a tremendous loss of revenue.

SabeRex Solution:
SabeRex worked closely with sister company, Saber Data, a software development company to develop an updated hardware/software solution. Saber Data made modifications to the company’s existing software creating a Linux based solution that would run on updated computer terminals. The hardware needed would be subject to harsh environmental conditions, particularly high heat.  Saberex provided procurement of durable hardware designed for harsh conditions which included solid state drives. Other services included selecting and procuring additional peripherals, hard drive imaging, software backup discs, and a complete installation training video to assist technicians installing the new systems. SabeRex then deployed these new systems to fuel retailers around the country according to the client’s schedule.

Result:
The company is enjoying an improved revenue stream with fewer interruptions and far fewer service calls. The standardized hardware has created a more manageable infrastructure. The more durable hardware configuration resulted in a dramatic reduction in call center support calls. Overall the stability of the system resulted in a revenue increase of $100,000 per month and an overall more positive customer experience.

A customer that produces simulation training software

Challenge:
Reduce their costs for computer hardware, high-end software, and peripherals

SabeRex Solution:
SabeRex became the company’s procurement arm, leveraging high-volume buying power to secure lower pricing. SabeRex also took on distribution tasks for deployment of these technology assets. A number of value added services including hard drive imaging, application loading, and registration of hardware and software for end users located outside of the United States.

Result:
The services provided by SabeRex helped the client meet their budget goals through cost savings. SabeRex simplified procurement by consolidating their purchasing to one vendor for a variety of technology products, and eliminated problems with licensing and registration by end users in other countries including the Middle East.

IT Asset Management/Product Refresh Services

Client:
An Insurance Company with an international presence.

Challenge:
The company has over 17,000 IT assets both leased and owned that are used by employees around the US and abroad. Equipment refresh presents numerous logistical challenges. Approximately 300 units per month, primarily notebook computers, reach the end of their lease term or otherwise require replacement.

SabeRex Solution:
SabeRex developed an efficient, cost effective system to provide updated replacements of equipment as needed, deploy those assets, and receive and evaluate the condition of the returned unit. The new units are configured for individual end users with unique hard drive images, software applications, and other features as specified. SabeRex provides complete, customized units deployed on a timely basis.
The replaced machines are triaged, inspected, evaluated as to their condition, and the hard drives are serviced with a DoD compliant data wipe. SabeRex provides storage and return logistics.

Results:
SabeRex provides complete infrastructure for efficient return and replacement of IT assets saving the company money in overhead including manpower and administration management. The process also provides upward or downward scalability as the companies needs change.
